Has someone got a DVD player connected to a 433MXE via a COMPONENT cable into Input2 on the MXE?

Apparently Input2 (5x BNCs) only take a RGBHV signal from a Computer source (not even from a DVD with a converter box)

Seem starnge. Can someone confirm it?

    Thanks

Input 2 will accept interlaced or progressive component video from a DVD player if you have the PDA5002 card fitted.

My Denon 3800 is connected to input 2 , just using a component to BNC cable , ignoring the H AND V sockets.

    Installer, thanks for your answer.
Is it really a COMPONENT signal that you are feeding to Input2 or is it a RGB?

I do not know the 3800, but many player will also output a RGB signal down the same 3xRCAs of COMPONENT.

    Hi Installer,

I hear what you say, but can't find any mention of Component Video I/P's on any official Pioneer Literature..

How did you come across this, by accident or is it promoted somewhere officially??

    Cheers,

    Dave.

All my information initially came from Joe Fernand who frequents this forum , try doing a search under his name.

You'll probably have more luck finding Pioneer comments on this under the details for the PDA-5002 card rather than the screen, since component input is enabled by the card and is not a standard feature of the screen without the card.

It is covered in detail in the 503MXE Technical manual as well.
