I have a old Pinnacle dc10 editing caputre card which i use for my 8mm camcorder and i edit it then record it onto vhs tape.
Is it possable to record it onto cd -r.
I now the files space used to capture it onto hard drive are big 600MB - 3.6 GB for every 10 mins of footage, so how much footage will i get onto a cd-r,and will the quality be vhs quality and will i be able to play them on my cd-r compatable dvd player ? any help please before i buy a cd recorder ..

Copying on CD-R should be no problem.
You will need to convert the file to MPEG-1 for VCD or MPEG-2 for SVCD.
Can't remember the exact timings but VCD will give around 1 hour of video per CD-R & SVCD will give around 20 minutes.
SVCD give the same quality as DVD (subject to the origional recording of course!) & VCD should give something around VHS quality.
Be warned! Not all DVD players can replay a SVCD, but will play back VCD ok.

    Mark.
