    Hi,

In Pinnacle studio 8, if I want to capture video that is going to be burnt as a VCD, is there any need to capture in DV format or should I capture in MPEG format.

i.e. Would it make any difference to the final video, which of the 2 options I choose at the capture stage if the the final output is VCD.

Also, what is VCD output comparable to. Would it be as good as VHS or SVHS ?

    Advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    M.

I think you'll find VCD to be not as good as VHS, I played around with this a bit at weekend and the biggest prolem is digital blocking on VCD, obviously when you transfer to VHS via a VCR you may get lower quality but it'll be smooth.

I found that capturing as MPEG then making SVCD produced excellent quality albeit a bit time slow.

    Cheers
