News from www.brain-damage.co.uk is that Live at Pompeii will be out on 20th of October. However Australia gets it on 17th of September. No US date yet.

    R4 for me then.

I'd rather have had 'Pulse' - now that will be a great DVD!

Nah, Pompeii for me. They'd gone a bit too much pipe and slippers for me by the time they released Pulse. I expected to see Mr Gilmour up on stage in a cardigan sat on a rocking chair;)

For some reason I have a sneaking suspicion the US release will be better than the R2 or R4 though.... I hope not.

I have been waiting for this for ages, pretty much since I have had a dvd player. It's a brilliant set and will be great on DVD.

I think it beats the hell out of pulse too.

I had a bit of an investigate and I cant see any mention of there being any different versions, R1 etc. However the R1 delay might have something to do with it.

As far as I can see R2 and R4 are the same both have a making of DSOTM footage.

Cant wait for R1, dont reckon it will be different.

I want Pulse and Delicate Sound of Thunder on DVD as well.

Is the making of DSOTM stuff going to be extended from the video because mine has some of that on it and some small interview clips.

Including my fave where DG is asked if PF take any sort of drugs and he says no, but with a knowing smile!

Over at brain-damage.co.uk they have a bit more info on the Pompeii DVD and a report that Dave Gilmour has finished the 5.1 mix of Pulse. Its now off to James Guthrie (DSOTM SACD bloke) for editing.

Good news for Floyd fans DSOTM documentary in August, Pompeii R4 in Sept, R2 in Oct. Pulse by Xmas??

    details... give me details
you can't just say it's gorgeous and then run away:lesson: :D
Nice transfer? How's the audio? a 5.1 remix plus the original stereo mix too? Extras?

How much did it work out in Euro's?
The cheapest I've found it at the moment is £14.99 from Play so I'll wait til the UK release unless the German's a bit less.

It's gorgeous because of what it shows.
From technical point of view it is great picture (directors cut 16:9 -original concert 4:3) and standard DD 2.0 sound that is clear but nothing special. No multichannel remix.
The reason I like this one is because it shows real psychodelic art of PF. Synergy between Waters and Gilmour is great and fits 100%. I saw PF five times live, twice with and three times without Waters, and new concerts were IMHO better. But this beats'em all!

For the profis: directors cut in widescreen has also great picture apart from computer animated sections that are of course full of artefacts - GordonF would switch it off probably or at least skip those scenes. Sound level is also not done so well but it is OK

I also do not understand why it is not available in UK yet because it will be same DVD - 100% sure on this. Even cover has nothing in german. All you have to do is to select language on start and then you get subtitle and menus in selected languaga.

Pompeii was always my favourite concert. Sounds good enough to me. Thanks
Universal have always been weird regarding staggered release dates for an identical product across Europe and Australia:confused: . Still, at least it's finally arrived... or arriving.
Not fussed about a remix myself either, it's the music that counts
