Would it be a good sticky for us to post piccies of our beloved TAG gear?
Sound like fun - here's a picture of a daisy in a field. Here is a picture of another daily (different from the first, honest) in another field (different from the first, honest).
Did my wife put you up to this as a way of shaming me into fixing up the lounge/home cinema?
Kenny, never mind sarcasm.... Count me in, as attached!
The silver T32R doesn't look in tune with the other black stuff, but next weekend I'll try exchanging face plates and lids with mlinhares.
As I say in my sig, next upgrade is the TT arm, and then the home itself. That should have been done already last May, but you know constructors.
Only then, a bigger and wider thing to replace the trusty but smallish-squarish Trinitron.
OK - lets see...
Just finished this rack last weekend, and now my TAG kit has somewhere decent to sit.
It's made from black granite, and weighs in at a hefty 112 kilos (that's about 250 pounds).
Cost me about R1000 (that's about 90 quid).
Nice rack caleb!
My racks (see above) are also DIY jobs. They're made of welded steel tube, filled with sand to avoid any resonance and lower the natural frequency, oak, glass and a lot of Foculpods.
They cost me a lot more than 90£, though.... I believe about 750 in materials, plus my workmanship...
Looks great, Caleb.
Any chance of a bigger picture?
I'm buggered if I can get a bigger picture to download - must be the smoke signals that need a bigger fire!1
I'll try again later.
Lucky I was away all last week or you may have hurt my feelings Nice to see the piccies anyway and I'll do mine after Live8 if I can.
Am decorating so stuff(and auralex) everywhere. Will post again when finished
The thought of you crying yourself to sleep, Kenny... Remind me to beat myself up for being such a heartless bar steward.
Actually, they're not at all like daisies, in fact most of them are black and the fields are different. Anyway... its your turn to show your kit!!
What is in that stack?
No verbous signature, no profile, so...
Av192 psm Dab Fm xlr rs232 f/p rgb switcher
That was quick - ears must have been burning.
Nice selection of stuff there - ta.
What is in this set-up, Nuno? Is it an AV32R and a DVD32FLR? What are the speakers? WHat, if anything would you change?
Actually, I'm interested in what anyone with a TAG config is looking to change and why.
here's my collection
They're not thumb nails, they're lapel pins!
(I wondered where mine went).
I am also missing two F3 pins, no clue where those went either.
I have a boxed gold tick pin available somewhere if someone wants to be kind to a poor ex TMA employee?
I need an AV32R remote
I have the following setup: Pre/Pro : TAG AV32R DualProcessor, DVD : TAG DVD32R, Power : TAG 100x5R, Front : Sonus Faber Electa Amator II, Surround : Sonus Faber Signum, Centre : Sonus Faber Solo, Projector : Sim2 Domino 20H, Plasma : Panasonic 37PA30, Sub : REL Strata III.
I'm quite happy with what I have, but, like most things in life there's always room for improvement, or at least just to experience the joy of trying new gear ;-).
I wouldn't change the processor, but I could try the Krell 5 channel power amp (already tried Bryston and the TAG250 but I prefer the 100x5R in my setup). At the speaker front I could try Sonus Faber Cremona's, but I'm not shure if I would like them better than the ones I have now... If the Cremona's were better then there would also come along the Cremona center and Cremona Auditor's for surround. On the sub side I'd buy another Strata III. It makes a huge diference to have 2 subs instead of one.
The DVD is a mixed bag... a Denon (3910 or the top of the line A1XV) most probably has a better picture than the TAG but the TAG is very good audio wise (and I'm not talking about 2 channel only). I tried an Arcam DV27A vs a Denon 2910 and although the Denon was slightly better in picture quality, the Arcam was so much better in Audio...
Of course that all of the above is only feasable IF I had money for it (which I don't right now...;-)).
More pictures here :
That is serious kit, Nuno, and very tidy.
I just know my wife would still object and the whining caused by a projector and screen bolted to the ceiling is probably no worse that that for a plasma so...
What I couldn't see was the screen. What is it and where is it?
This screen was the only one I could find that suited my (and the wifes) specs. It has a nice look and is quite discrete. I considered hiding it before installation, but every friend that saw it confirmed my opinion: it look nice and non obtrusive.
I have a motorized ScreenLine Othello 83" screen with 16:9 ratio (http://www.othelloline.com/en/othello.dhtml). I have a DIY trigger that drops the screen as soon as the PJ is powered up.
I haven't taken any pictures of the screen yet but it's centered with the plasma and the screen surface falls about 1/2 inch away from the plasma surface.
I'll update the pictures at the site ASAP and keep you informed.
I thought we all had one of those mate...... Might have a spare AV32R remote though, give me a shout on the work e-mail and I'll have a look for it tomorrow (first day at work for ages tomorrow!).....
Here's my rack.... top to bottom we have:
DVD32r + PSM192,
AV32 Dual Processor,
Yamaha HD1300 Hard disk audio player,
Space where my scaler used to live,
Sky box plus various boxes for distributing sources around the house...
My toys - at least the pen and the remote
And my real toys. The microphone for RoomEQ Wizard for one time is not in place
gee Daniel, this Pronto Pro layout looks somehow very familiar, I must have seen it somewhere before
By the way this rack looks great, what is it actually? And the small scren (guess for menu OSD) over the top loader is cool indeed.
by the way, what's the silver toy on the Velodyne?
Separate names with a comma.
