I've searched high and low all over the internet and can't find a jpeg of what the back of the sony 1080 receiver looks like.
Even the official sony site doesn't give much info on their receiver.

So can someone post a pic or give me a URL or even take a picture of the back of their own sony 1080 (although that would probably be too much hassle with all the cables needed to be disconnected).

    Thanks.

Not sure how similar the 1070 is to the 1080 but i would have thought the 1080 had more inputs.

    Cheers Maukka.

    Why? [IMG]
Main difference being the component video handling.

ok, my mistake. Very similar apart from the component video handling and also the extra front speaker connectors in the top right.

So they dropped the component inputs/outputs for the 1080??

There are several different versions of the 1070.The official UK model does not have component video handling.

this may seem like a stupid question...(because it probably is) but why do recievers have/need video inputs/handling etc. Is it just a convenience thing so that all inputs/outputs are routed through the one unit?

    cheers!
