Hi,
I know these questions are asked a lot but maybe I can gather some opinions.
I have a refund from the tax man coming (due to wrong tax code) and a voucher from work.
Overall about 1000 GBP to spend as a maximum on a 4K TV.
TV will be in the lounge it's quite a bright room in the day; so I'm leaning towards LCD rather than OLED.
Currently I have a very old Samsung 37 inch "3D TV" Full HD which can be re-used as a computer monitor, it's still working fine (after about 10 to 14 years!).
I mostly watch via Sky Q Box, we have Netflix and Amazon Prime also (usually watch them through Sky box too, though also have an older Chromecast).
In addition, not long ago I bought a new Samsung Soundbar with Sub and rear speakers with upfiring ones built it (which is generally great).
I don't game much but I am interested in having the latest gaming technologies in case my mates bring their consoles over.
I have plenty of old DVD's and a Sony BluRay player (a fairly cheap one).
I'm happy with the old Samsung (only replacing because it's small and not 4K).
I'd be interested in using the Q-Symphony function (with the existing Soundbar) if I got a 4K Samsung TV, maybe like this one:

But it seems Samsung doesn't support all HDR formats; especially lacking Dolby Vision.
I read one post on hear that some studios have dropped HDR10+, and that BBC iPlayer uses HLG, with Netflix and Amazon also split on the issue.
I'm not keen to spend the money and then find things are released in a format that isn't supported.
Which leaves me with the need to mix and match Samsung soundbar and other brand's TV.
Sony, LG, Panasonic seem to be other brands in my price range.
Something like this, perhaps:
Is the Qsymphony really worth missing out on Dolby Vision for? Is running a mixture of brands a better approach?
