Hi Guys, I have a weird problem with my 1 month olkd Denon 3800, I have picture distortion on the right hand side when watching NTSC disks , more noticable on 1.88:1 Disks strangely ;-) Lines are not straight they have a curve to them , the same disk on my Pioneer 717 does not have this problem. If I set the 3800 to Pal output only it appears ok but the pic is not as sharp so this is not really an option. I am using RGB SCART (or Svideo same problem) into a Hitachi 32@ 100Hz TV. I have enclosed a couple of pics to help decribe the problem. If someone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Karl
The top inch looks slanted. Is it still there when the DVD is plugged directly into the TV. If so, then the TV is at fault. My brothers Toshiba slants as well, but to the right. If you could a snapshot of the THX setup screen, is this has a line going all the way around the TV, this will show up and problems.
If it goes away on non-progressive output then it is almost certainly a TV geometry fault. It will load up different geometric settings dependant on incoming scan rate so they are all likely to look different. Gordon
Guys, Cheers for that , I have included the pic from a THX screen on the Toy Story 2 disk (which is where the pic came from) Would this be a differen scan rate from the main feature ? Cheers, Karl
