Im getting my home cinema system soon, (my first step into the DVD world) and could do with a few questions answering.

Ive decided to go for the Panny tx32pb50 (£1149),
I dont have space for a seperate amp and 36in is out coz it will block half of the window.

for my DVD player ive opted for the pioneer dv545 (£229), only for its sound/picture quality.

my real problem is the connections?

Im probably going to get a QED av21 (0.5m) but as the 545 dosent have a built in dolby digital decoder will i also need a digital cable?

if so would a rgb only scart be better?

My knowledge of connections is sketchy at best so help in this area would be much appreciated.

You will have to purchase an optical/coaxial lead to be able to listen to D/D and DTS from the TV's onboard decoders, the RGB (video only) scart will be no good to you as it carries no audio, so connecting this to your TV would result in no sound, stick to the QED AV21 which is a very good choice.

QED AV21 @ HiFiBitZ £35.99 is about the cheapest and the best in my opnion. You should be ok for the 0.5m length, as it sounds as if the DVD player will be directly under the tv, check anyway.
