Hello all! I have been using Photoshop for while now, at an amateur level! I see alot of people using Elements!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the two and what the advantages and disadvantages of both are!

    Thanks

PS Elements has all the basics most people will need. PS CS is a professional tool and the hefty difference in price reflects the respective target markets. It would take too long to go through the differences; be better to check out the Adobe web site. PS CS has a long learning curve and to get the best from it you need to know it inside out and use it day to day. PS Elements is much easier to learn and offers plenty of handholding.

condyk - thanks for your help! I have a reasonable grasp of Photoshop, but was just interested in know what elements could do that PS couldn't, if you know what I mean!

Elements is a bare bones down version of PS CS...there's the odd thing Elements3 currently has that CS lacks but i these'll dissappear with CS2 revision due out next month.

I haven't seen a LE/Elements version of Photoshop for a while now... I know one of the main differences in the past was the number of undos you could perform, and maybe 'history' is restricted... not sure for latest Elements though.
