Phone line connection to Sky box

    Hi,

    I'm in the process of having Sky Plus installed today but have just received a call from the engineer informing me that I must have a cable run up my stairs so that both boxes are connected at all times. I was also informed that if I disconnect this cable my bill will double.

    Can anyone tell me:

    1- if they've had this problem, & whether Sky check up on it
    2 -know of any way of getting round having another cable run to the box? - I was told by the engineer that I can buy a 'remote phone sender' does anyone know what they are, or where I can get one?

    Sky do check on it, and yes, the amount they take by direct debit will double if you don't have both boxes connected to the same phone line. Can't help you with the phone sender, sorry.
