    Danny,

If you think this is "THE worst movie of recent times", then you don't see many movies, do you? Alternatively, maybe your standards are a little too high?!

Maybe you could enlighten all of us, as to what films from "recent times" you DID like?!

Get out of the wrong side of the bed Pooch?

He was offering his opinion which is every bit as valid as yours, or mine & everyone else.

Thought Signs was OK. Just that OK. Nothing special, not terrible.

Phonebooth - the same. Lucky it was only 77 minutes - couldn't really have gone much longer.

It filled an hour for me anyway.

    ;)

    Hi,

Oops! Looks like I ballsed-up my reply, because I didn't pay attention to Danny P's post properly. I thought he was slamming "Phone Booth" not "Signs". Sorry!

Having never seen "Signs" (only because it doesn't interest me), I can't comment on whether it's any good or not. However, "Phone Booth" is very cool, and exciting, though it may not standup to repeat viewings.

Once again, apologies to Danny P for making a big mistake!

Phone Booth is an excellent movie indeed.

But I read a mini review of it that said the voice of the guy on the phone with the sniper is meant to come out of just the rear speakers...But it comes out of the centre for me and it did when I saw it in the cinema...?

I still think Pooch was right regardless of whether it was signs or phone booth.

Anyone thinking either of these is one of the worst films they have ever seen has not seen many awful films, clearly someone who doesn't watch moviemax very often.

One comment in a 'worst film' thread was quite apt, was that when people nominate their worst film they usually vote for below average films that disappointed them, not truely terrible films.

I saw Red Alert on moviemax this week now that was crap

Phone booth is pretty good, signs was below average IMO!!!

Danny-p - looking at the films you DO like, I'm not surprised Signs wasn't up your street. Probably a bit slow moving, although I thought The Score was too slow too. He he. Anyway, Phonebooth should be more your style. Enjoy!

    I liked both :)

Phone Booth is pretty good. Worth a rental not something you would watch a lot of times.

I saw Darkness Falls yesterday mate and it made me jump more than Signs did. If you're looking for an excuse to re-plaster your ceiling, get Darkness Falls. I now have a huge hole in mine, plus I soiled the sofa :( :D

Not seen Phonebooth but everyone says it's good, so I'm up for it :smashin:

good films of recent times ? Spy Game was good

of old times, I always drift back to 2001 and Dune...

havent watched 'phone booth' yet but signs was absolute pants.

the whole alien thing was just shockingly awful!!!! I mean, who planned the alien invasion? the teletubbies?

Anyway, this thread is far enough off topic already.

    regards
