I really thought I'd be bored when I went to see this
but was really amazed that a man trapped inside a phone
booth could be so interesting. I would presume most
of you will have seen the trailer and know the premise -
man answers phone call and gets held there by sniper.

Colin Farrell is excellent in this role starting off as this
cocky PR guy and then over the course of the film stripped of all his dignity.

Joel Schumacher's directing is first rate and the movie
moves at a brisk pace clocking in at just 80mins!

Probably the best thriller of 2003 so far.

    Enjoy

    Mieville.

looking forward to this one, it was originally written in the 70s when people actually used phone booths rather than everyone having a mobile, can you imagine that!!:D ;)

Saw this last night, was very good but something was missing, though I couldn't put my finger on what... perhaps the saturation of Colin Farrel has finally got to me:D I would definatly go see this.

I can't stand Farrell - little midget can't stop bragging about hitting the bigtime . Might still go see it though.

It's like every other film nowadays stars either Georgie Clooney or Colin Farrell - Good if you're a sexually frustrated housewife, I guess.

I quite liked Phone booth. I got dragged along to a press screening months ago by a friend before it disappeared off the release schedule when that psycho sniper started taking pot-shots at anyone that was walking by in the US. Joel Schumacher's not the greatest director, but give him some decent material and he can churn out something worthwhile. This is definitely 80 mins well spent.

I'm with groundy on hating Farrell. In my book he overplays the loveable Irish rogue who's made of himself and if I was Irish I guess I'd like to **** him just for that. Gonna avoid Phonebooth so's the Daredevil dvd doesn't hiss me off and hope he gets ****'d in that proper.

    HI,

Well, I saw the film tonight, and I quite liked it. Katie Holmes is barely in the film, and to be honest, she doesn't exactly give a "performance" in this flick, as opposed to a cameo. She's only in the film very, very briefly.

I have to say, that although I enjoyed the film, it was just too damn short! In 81 minutes, we don't get to know more about Farell's character of Stu, and why he is being targetted specifically. Some more background on him, his life, the various relationships he's having/had would have been great. Also, some more background info on the sniper as well, would have been enjoyable. What was the motive? It can't simply have been what you see depicted in the film, as that was just a bit twee, really.

Let's hope the DVD will give us a decent Director's Cut, or at least a heavily extended version of this enjoyable thriller!

One minor problem: the multiple screens, within a screen, ala TV show "24" didn't quite work as well. This maybe one of those films that actually works better on DVD, and video/TV, than in a cinema. Somehow the sheer size of a cinema screen didn't (in my opinion) help the film in any way.

    Pooch

I saw this tonight, enjoyed it. I wasn't quite happy with ending however.

Farrell was outstanding. In the interviews I have seen he has always come across as someone who is down to earth and appreciates his good luck

Only thing that bugged me was that Kiefer Sutherland should've sounded like he was on a phone.

I was very impressed by this movie, saw it last night and was pleasantly amused for the duration.

It had just the right amount of black humour and tension to keep it going.

    Very clever script.

Haven't seen this, but when I saw the trailer it reminded me of a Wesley Snipes movie called "Liberty Stands Still" where a woman is chained to a hot-dog cart in the middle of a city street, controlled (over the phone) by an unseen sniper.

Can be picked up online on R2 for about £6.99 - decent little flick...
