Just had a look on Play, saw that Phone booth Special edition is due soon. What exactly makes this a special edition?

It only has a trailer and commentary.

But it does have Katie Holmes who is very special indeed.

Just watched this, and the picture quality is great. Doesn't actually seem to have that many extras for an SE, other than commentary and trailer. Widescreen and fullscreen are included on separate sides of the disc, so no impact on PQ from having both version on the disc.

Great movie as well, really enjoyed it!

BTW, if you are buying it for Katie Holmes she has no more than a few lines and very little to do, so you may be sorely disappointed.

Saw that that's why I raised the question if people would be buying from Movie tyme. I think DVD Soon will start shippinh July 7th. I dont think they get the films early like some other companies.
I have never used dvd soon but after reading a lot of positive things about them I think I will use them.

You dont save much money from DVD Soon only about £3 but that is £9 once you have oredered 3 films buys you another film.

I like action films and PhoneBooth seems to be just that and it also got positive feedback from a lot of people on here even though some just want to see the girl in th film :p

I wouldn't call Phone Booth an action film by a long shot (see what I did there) ;)

It's extremely tense, and a great movie but there is certainly very little 'action' in the traditional sense.

as geezer has said some of us (SG, me, him) have tons still to watch so the extra couple of weeks delay isnt a problem and allows us to get more disks than from play et al. I still buy from play and cd-wow but not as aften since I've seen the light - now pretty much just R2 and audio
i always used to get the earliest possible release and watch then as soon as they arrived - now with so many to watch and so little time I'm willing to wait

I did see what you did there :D . I think I will like the film. I will buy this movie from DVD Soon and buy Donnie darko from movie tyme as Donnie is only about £2 more than DVD soon.

I only have about 25 in my "to watch" pile at the moment, plus Band of Brothers and Three Colours Trilogy, which are going to have to wait until I can have a long run at them (would like to do Three Colours all in one evening :) ).

If you don't have anything in your "to watch" pile, then surely it's a prime opportunity to re-watch your existing DVDs anyway :)

Oh my god  . I buy one at a time or 3 max so I can view them then buy some more when I have watched them. I have not ordered Phone Booth I will order it from DVD soon but I have ordered Donnie darko from movie tyme as it's only £7.

If I order Beverly Hills Cops from DVD Soon 3 discs what are the chances of having to pay import charges and how much import charges will I have to pay on nightmare on elm street 8 disks I dont know how the custom charge works.

When I get a job I think I will follow the rest of you buy a load of films from dvd soon as it saves you money in the long run. I live at home with parents dont pay bored not in decbt well only £600 credit card i will pay £300 this month and I can sell gamcube and playsation 2 and wipe the debt  .

How do you find time to watch 25 films though that is a big collection.

Just seen it thank you. £10 is not bad as it is a saving of £50 still just thought more disks in the box set the higher you get charged by customs.
I have only been into home cinema for about 4 years used to have a Panasonic A160 multi region but gave it to my brother for nothing as he has kids and bills to pay. I have never been hit by customs because always used

    futuere entertainment
    cd wow
    play 247
    moveityme

If I am to try a new supplier I just want to know all the facts before hand such as are they reliable and will I be hit by cutoms if so how much.
Sorry to be a pain. I have taken all your advice gone for Donnie Darko, Catch Me if you can then Phone booth I will buy from DVD Soon along with some other films as you need to buy 3 to make a saving.

customs, in theory, rely on the cn22 notice on the outside of the box. dvdsoon mark 3 titles as 12$ each and this is how a tenner gets calculated. they, in theory, dont know that its worth more without opening the parcel up and checking the contents. I've yet to hear of this happening.

The most i have ever ordered from dvdsoon in one package is three films. That got through fine.

I dont think i would attempt anymore than that.

I ordered 8 disks some in stock, some out of stock, adn some pre-order. So technically only two were in stock.

but some came into stock and a preorder came in early before they dispatched

so 5 titles are currently in the ether supposedly being held to ramsom by her Majesty's Customs & Excise while they borrow the goverment abacus to calculate my charges.

I am thinking of ordering Beverly Hills Cops from DVD soon now.
It is a box set 3 disks so as it is 3 disks will I avoid the custom charge or as it is a box set will I be hit by custom charges?
I think I read from someone on here it takes about 8 days for the films to arrive from DVD Soon.

no, crazy its per title not per disk. if you order a box set called "beverly hills cop trilogy" and says its $50 - that is one title as dvdsoon are concerned and will put it on the outside of the box as $12. if you order three seperate titles 1) beverly hills copt, 2) beverly hills cop II, and 3) beverly hills copy III then each title will appear and be listed as 3x$12

this goes for things like "24" or X-Files at 6 discs - one title

    comprende?

as for length of delivery, most people use expidited delivery which is a cost option. under no circumstqances use the courier option as you will abosolutly 100% get hit by customs

I personally use the free option cos I'm a tight arsed northerner. spend $100 and you get free despatch. tag on $1.60 per item and get them shipped as they arrive. This however, in my experience takes upto a month to arrive. This delay however was during the war and most things out of the US (including canada, ie mainland North America) was taking an inordinate amount of time. Usually around two weeks is norm but depends.
