I am using a Nokia 6301 as a bluetooth modem with my laptop. Would a USB broadband dongle be any faster?

The modem in the 6301 has a maximum speed of 238kb/s so is significantly slower than a USB mobile broadband. If you are in a good coverage area, a USB mobile broadband should be at least 4 times quicker.

I'm using my iPhone as a Wifi Hotespot as we speak and I'd say its faster than my Three Dongle was.

Thanks for the feedback - guess I'll have to get my 3 dongle unlocked so that I can use it on Orange.

Yes, but the OP has a 6301 being used over EDGE. Not an iPhone being used over Wi-Fi.

Its being used on 3G/Edge actually, and its very quick.

can i use my e63 as a dongle? for connecting to the internet?

I believe you can use just about any Nokia to get your PC online.
