Phillips 50pf9967/10 Component Problem

Hello all,

Im having a bit of a problem with a newly purchased TV. The phillips tv has component support through DVI, however i cannot seam to get it to work. This is the setup all using cables supplied with the set.

My DVD player is connected to the tv using a component to VGA cable then a VGA to DVI converter. When i turn the dvd player on the message "picture format not available" appears on the tv, i have tried also to connect my xbox using the same setup with the same problem. I can however unplug the component to VGA cable and plug in a standard VGA to VGA cable and connect my pc to the tv with no problems.

Ive had a look online and through the manual (which is very poor) and ive had a look through the forum but cannot find anything.

Any help you can offer will be most appreciated,

Here is a link to the manual:

Thanks,

Jon
