Phillips 3305 Dvd Recorder locked

Can some one help me to unlock this Dvd recorder ? my father has somehow locked it he wanted to put it in a freezer ? to restore it ? but if someone has an easier way please let me know..

when trying to open the disc tray it comes up with the words blocked /...the assumption is that you would need to put in a unblocking code..

have you tried taking the plug out of the mains socket then putting it back again.sometimes that will reset it.

yes according to the recorder it is reset to factory settings ? however when you go to use it it says "BLOCKED" Emmmm very confusing.. my father as i said was keen to deep frreze the unit under the assumption it would cure this problem.. ?? !! it was a method allegedly used by the car radio people to reset the radios in the old days !! .... i said my freezer was full and to hold off untill i posted on the forums..

I can assure you it won't and more to the point what does he think condensation is going to do to delicate electronic components and circuit boards as it defrosts
Plug it back in to the mains and boom
