    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some help.

My girlfirend has a Phillips Widescreen TV (32PW6515/05) which has recently developed a fault, typically, after the warrenty has expired.

The TV appears to scroll through the channels on it's own. At first we thought it might be a problem with a sticky button (either on the set or on the remote) but eliminated that. Then i had the idea that it might be a problem with either her DVD player, Sky box or VCR. (as when you turn them on, they turn the channel to one of the EXT channels). But we removed them and eliminated that problem.

    So basically we are stumped!

The problem only seems to present itself once the TV has been on for an hour or so...

She has been quited £45 for an engineer JUST to look at the TV... if it's repairable... the cost of parts and labour will be extra.

I have had a scan through the forum to see if anyone else has a similar problem with a phillips but cant see anything.

Anyone got any ideas what it could and/or how much a repair might cost?

    Thanks for your help!

    Tyger

    Hi
Look on the back of the TV for the chassis number, if it is A10-E then it is probably the painter chip, cost of repair about £140.

    Hi
After consuming aprox 4 pints of lager I find double negatives confusing. :)
Make sure it is a A10-E first, it does cause many strange symtoms.

    parts & labour it's £130"

Well done guys... looks like you hit the nail on the head!
