I am having problem with my New Phillips TV and have found one other owner on these boards with the same proble. This was his original post:

http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-...roblem-screen-strobing-philips-21-9-help.html

I know this is an old post but i have the same TV and the exact same problem. My TV is only 3 weeks old so willl be going back to the store for them to sort out. What i wanted to know is if Blue Ray King got his sorted, what did Phillips have to say and is this likely to be a comon fault that may reoccur because with the TV being less than 28 days old i may tell them to keep it. Thanks in advance Alan

I am in the middle of reading through a 36 page thred with all sorts of problems regarding buzzing and high pitched whine from phillips TV's. My problem goes furthen than that in the sence i lose picture all togeather and the remote will not work when it dose that. My TV has lost the picture 5 time in the past hour. It starts with a noise from the back of the set in the top right corner that is not a whine or a low tone buzz but more of an electrical crackling accompanied by an electrical smell like rechargeable batteries when warm and fully charged ( hope that makes sence ) The noise becomes louder and more intence then the lower half of the screen starts to strobe / flicker between the normal picture and white after 30 - 60 seconds the top half of the screen dose the same. The noise gets louder again and with in a 60 seconds i have a completely black screen but still have sound and ambilight. The crackling noise goes and the remote will not work. If i turn the set off and then back on it will start all over again and i can loose the picture in a matter of seconds or it may take 10-20 mins. The TV has only done this for the last 2 days but it is only 3 weeks old. It dose not do it from the start it has to be on for an hour or 2 and if i let it cool down for a few hours i can watch a film if i am lucky befor i loes the picture. I have tried all the obvious things to rule out any thing els causing it but it is 100% the TV. Any thoughts would be very appreciated because i love this TV but do not want to have this problem again out of warranty and at the moment this set is less than 28 days old so could go back for a full refund. Thanks Alan

By your description of the symptoms the set does sound as though it has a fault and if I were you I'd return it pronto.

Im off to go and see them at the store now. The is no more stock of this TV so the options are: have it repaired and hope the is no more problems, swap it for another TV for the same or similar value or get a full refund. I realy love this TV and do not want to give it up but i do not want to be stuck with a TV that will break down again and i only have a 12 month warranty so come month 13 im stuck. Any suggestions??

I have just got my TV back after it being away for 4 weeks for repair. They said they had to replace the LCD pannel and it has been on test for a few days and all is well. Fingers crossed thats the last of the problems with this set.
