My Philips wireless back speakers make a background popping sound in time with the 50hz power supply. An engineer told me that a fix had been sourced by snipping' a lead inside the lead speaker (the one with the power) of the two. Apparently it's an earthing problem. Only problem was he never did tell me which lead to snip!!

Anyone have any ideas how, without adding/replacing equipment, I can eliminate this "putt, putt, putt" noise from my setup?

(Incidentally the 'putting' starts slowly before getting faster, seemingly as the speakers warm up!!)
