    HELP !

My friend has a philips 28" tv. It has the normal Sky, PS2 and DVD player in the 3 exts. However last week, when pressing the ext button on the remote, the screen goes black and seems to go to standby mode. Through RF it shows sky and the national channels and in the corner it shows the channel number, but the ext number doesn't show when pressing the ext on the remote.

    Anyone any ideas, help :lease:

Is your friend using the original Philips remote that was supplied with the set?
    What's the TV model no?

They are using the original remote control, it has a slider on the side for tv/video/dvd.

I'm not sure of the model, but it's a 28" widescreen.

Is there a factory reset program that can be run ?

I need the exact model no taken from the rear label on the set.

    Hi,

Would really appreiate advice on the same problem, or a factory reset.

Number on back of tv is 24PW6005/05

Cheers! Is a Philips 24", when I try to go to extensions it turns itself off and the standby light does a sort of intermittent double flash.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is one symptom of the infamous "Painter" chip faulty and unlikely to be a cost-effective repair.
