I bought a Philips 28PW9527 TV in Feb 2003. In September last year I heard
a loud pop and TV refused to come out of standby. The east-west post
transistor had blown and cost me £70 to get it repaired. As a gesture
of goodwill Philips refunded half the cost.

Guess what happened last night?! There's no way on Earth I want to pay
any money towards a repair and ideally would like a replacement. What
do you think my chances are of Philips doing either?

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks.

Well, you can phone them and ask but I doubt you'll have much luck 2 and a half years down the line although good luck to you if you do.
Whatever......they will want you to get an estimate for the repair first.....and it may not be the same fault as last time.........there are many things which can cause the same symptoms.
