    Hello everyone….I need some help!

I’m looking to buy a 32inch LCD and had just about decided to go for the Philips 9976. Anyway, I then found this place and saw that the Toshiba 32WL48 was getting some interest and looks better specified with component and HDMI inputs, so I started to sway a little and after doing some more research the Aquos LC32GA3E has also attracted my attention….so who’s got what and who would prefer what?

I know that the higher spec Philips 9986 is getting the nod over the Toshiba but they are not really in the same price range.

I want something that will be used mainly as a general TV to watch normal terrestrial (analogue and digital) broadcasts and DVD’s, but the option to connect a PC on occasions would also be a benefit.

    Thanks

Well I picked up a Tosh 32WL48 just before the New Year and mainly use it for DVD, DVHS, PS2 and XBOX playback. The picture quality from the component input is something very special, especially if fed a quality source.

Another factor to consider, well for me, the HDMI input for SKY HDTV and not forgeting the price also for the unit.

Well since virtually no one had the TV in stock except LE Concepts, I ordered from them and paid list price at £1,599.99 on my barclaycard.

I have now claimed back under their price promise scheme as this TV is available from many online retailers for around £ 1,275.00, but none of them had any in stock, and from the looks of things it will be some time before they get any.

Having looked around on the net I think I like the Aquos LC32GA4E in preference to the 3E because of the ability to detach the speakers….I don’t think the bottom speaker comes off the 3E. Is this the only difference in the two models?

Unfortunately out of the Philips 9976, Toshiba 32WL48 and Aquos I’ve only been able to find the Philips to view locally.

I’m still a little confused over connections and which model is the best specified, so would appreciate any feedback anyone can give me over which model would be most desirable in that department.

After searching for the Aquos on the web there seems to be a shortage in availability together with huge difference in prices quoted…has this model been out a while?

Finally the offer for extended warranty from Sharp has just finished although I seem to remember them offering this before. Does anyone know if the offer is repeated with any regularity?

    Thanks

The bottom speaker does detatch from the 3E. The stand is a little higher than the 4E to accomodate the speaker below the display, so when detached there will be more space underneath the display on the 3E than the 4E

    I doubt you'll be able to find either a 32" 3E or 4E.

So without the stand and speaker/s they are the same panel?

And why are there none about…are they discontinued? They’re still listed on the Sharp site.

I e-mailed Toshiba distributers and they said that the Toshiba 32WL48P is in short supply and there may be a 3-4 weeks delay before retailers will get them in stock.
    :(
