philips plasma

    hi there...

    thought sod it and going to bite the bullet and fork out on a 42" plasma, this sites a great help as im new to this, have been looking at the phillips 42pf9946 and wondered if anyone could recommend it, or if not for the same price any better ones?..im going to mainly be watching it for tv purposes more than watching moveis on so a clear picture is a must..also im looking to mount it on the chimney breast, would anyone know if there could be a problem with this?..heat etc...will be placed fairly high up the chimney!..many thanks in advance

    general advice, dont mount it high up! how high you talking?!? Also above a fire is not ideal (heat issues)

    about three quarters the way up! (6ft) may have to have a rethink then! thanks

    Way too high, about 3ft (give or take a few inches) is the ideal location.

    As i say it has been done though. Check out the "get your plasma's out for the lads thread"

    Plenty of pics in there for you to look at

    Hi Willy

    I heard that the 9946 has software problems. Read it on a Dutch consumer site in a recent report. Buyers of the 9956 are generally happy.
