I amhaving trouble connecting my PC to a Philips plasma. When connected the display shows the windows start-up screen and then the plasma displays "not supported". I know (hope) this is a settings problem, what do I need to do?

To this sounds like a setting up problem: I get that same error message when I try to give 720p to the plasma which is not a supported mode. What model do you have btw ? I have a feeling that the resolution which you are trying to feed is not something which your model likes. To find a working resolution I suggest going to 60hz and start from resolution 640x480 then 800x600 and then 1024x768,....

Your telly's manual should have the supported display modes listed.
