Philips PF9986 series- HDCP compliant?

    Hi there,

    Anybody here knows if the pf9986 series is hdcp compliant?
    Before i buy, i would like to know if i can connect a dvd player with DVI-D with this TV?

    Yes, it is HDCP compliant and should play from a HDCP DVD player via HDMI/DVI-D. However, I would recommend trying the player/screen combination with a non copy protected disc to ensure that:

    1. It will display something despite HDCP.
    2. It will display as you expect rather than some defaulting to a non optimal resolution. The EDID data returned by these displays is often wrong which may result in some players choosing a different resolution than that desired.
