Hi. Just hooking up my new Philips 32" PF9986 LCD TV. (The Ambilight one). I would like to run my DVD player using Component connections and Progressive Scan.

The set doesn't have traditional Component connections, but a weird DVI/Component adaptor thing. However, the cables are RCA colours and not component colours.

    Questions are:
Is this really a component connection?
    Which colours go with which?

On another tack, the assembly instructions for the base have a weird graphic at the end with a picture of the set with some direction arrows with a big 'X' through it and a Clock with 72H beside it?????? I hope this doesn't mean you've not to move the set for 72 hours before turning it on!

Sorry this is such a long story, but your help would be much appreciated.

    Jimmy

    immy,

The DVI connection is a continual debate. Have a good read through the thread oiginally started by chunkymunky http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155286

I just assumed the wierd graphic was not to move the set until the glue on the feet had set!

The specific piece of info you need (this originates from Philips apparently) is:
    Red is connected to Red
    Yellow is connected to Blue
    White is connected to Green
