    what would you pick???

i'm deciding between the Philips Garbo Matchline
    500:1, 1100 ansi, 854*... XGA, 2 y warrenty

    or the Sony HS2
    600:1, 1000 ansi, 854*... WGA, 1y warrenty

    sony is about 100pounds cheaper
but the philips has a lamplife of 6000hours instead of sony's 2000

    what would you pick?
    i'm a complete novice

Have not seen either demoed but as to price and lamp life it deppends on what you are going to use it for, if it will be for a couple off dvds each week it will probably not make too much difference, if on the otherhand you will watch every thing through it sky etc the the triple lamp life will be very worth while

I brought my Sony HS1 in March up to 1700 hrs on the lamp now so reccon that about 12 months to a lamp is what I'll get and a replacement lamp is £300, there fore triple lamp hrs is well worth while
