I have found approximately 10 - 13 green pixels on the screen whilst the TV is on playing either a DVD or a TV channel. Does this represent a DEAD pixel?
Should the set be taken back to shop and be fixed or do I request a new TV?

    Help please.

How many is too many? Personally, I would not be happy with ONE dead pixel as once you've noticed it, you'll see it all the time and be looking for more.
Has anyone had any experience of getting sets with dead pixels changed? I ask, as I'm considering buying my first LCD, and this 'dead pixel' issue bothers me a bit

i e-mailed customer service at john lewis to ask the very question
their reply was and i quote :

if there are ANY dead pixels then we will either collect the tv for a refund or replacement or alternatively we will offer a suitable ammount of compensation if you are willing to keep the item

personally i would want a replacement rather than comp

Most screens have a spoken, if not written, guarantee against dead pixels....
...and yes, One is One too many. I've heard of some people having to go through 5 or 6 (of a particular make) screens before getting a good one. Incidentally some dead pixels have been known to come back to life! Very rare though.
