Hi,
I have just purchased a philips hts3510 which is at the bottom end of the Philips line-up. I am very happy with the price/performance ratio, however one thing I cannot understand is why is it that when I place large files on a DVD, the player is not able to read it. It seems like the maximum file size is 700Mb. Putting larger files will either not be read by the dvd player (both dvd or usb) or else it will not play them even if they are in a supported format.

Any ideas guys?

The player may only play DVD discs, DivX discs and MP3 discs................

so if you just put a file on as data, it probably wont work...........

it would need to be burned as a playable DVD............

thing is...if I put a file say .avi which is 900Mb it doesnt read it...however when I put in a 700Mb .avi file it reads it. Is there a way round this? Is there maybe a software I can use so that I can divide a film into smaller chunks?
