I'm having Philips-HTR 5000 digital receiver system with 110 W rms /channel with a passive side-firing sub. I wish to upgrade the sub as I dont find it that effective for music. Can I use an active sub with the same receiver? Or can I attach a separate sub to sub out of my DVD player and use the receiver simultaneously without sub?
