    yep, about time too, it will push the prices of already on market hdd recorders down, even if philips have their normal reliability problems or not.
    imho, too little too late to clean up.
    still, i`m suprised to see no mention of dual format plus minus m/c`s as philips were due to be embracing -r/w also.

    Nice to see DD5.1 recording featured on one of the new machines along with component inputs as well.

    Perhaps the -r facility will only be on PC drives?

    Primitive/Spider,it will be interesting to see what Rasczak has to say about all these developments when he returns.
    Have you seen the new LG.Total dvd story is a bit unclear as to whether it just supports all formats(bar RAM)or actually records all formats(doubtful I know).
