Hi Guys I'm new here and could do with your help !

I'm after a DVD Recorder/VCR Combo and have narrowed down my search to the Philips DVDR630VR and the Toshiba DVR3.

Have any members any experiences of either the Toshiba or the Philips ?

    Which would you recommend ?

Frankly I would choose either of those: the JVC and Panasonic offerings are noteably superior for a number of reasons, i.e. video stabilisation, recording quality and time base correction (which the Philips does not have at all!).

Have a look at the 'Which DVD Recorder?' link in my signature (which includes a section on copies from VCRs). Note that with a VCR/DVDR combi you would not be able to copy protected (i.e. many commercial) videos!
