Philips DVDR3430V VHS/DVD recorder fault

DVD drawer will not open, message on unit window is saying BLOCKED. looked in online manual (troubleshooting) and this message, BLOCKED is not mentioned. Any ideas anyone

The unit may be in a 'demonstration mode' designed for shop display - and to prevent someone walking off with the disk.

Contact Philips customer services to see if they can confirm this and can give you the unblock combination.

On another site it recommends pressing the record and open/close button to 'force eject'.
