    :lease:

I have come across this a few times with my Philips DVDR 70.
Upon loading a 'None Regional Coding' DVD the initial Philips menu screen appears in a Black & White format, instead of colour and the play back of the DVD is also in B&W.

The question I have, is there any simple way of fixing this, by adjusting the settings of the Philips player, so that I may view this & other none regional code DVD's in colour?

    Thanks for your time

It'a not to do with the region coding; I bet these discs are NTSC. The DVDR70 outputs "true" NTSC when playing a NTSC disc, not "PAL60" which some do. If the TV can't handle a true NTSC signal that's when you get the black and white. I've read that if the TV supports RGB then using RGB out may provide the colour picture even if the TV can't handle NTSC on the composite connection.
