My Philips DVD 963SA was acquired in the USA with region 1 and its somewhat diferent from the model which is sold in europe.
I have two questions concrening the above unit namely how to hack for all region operation with progresive scanning on PAL and NTSC and the second question is the switcing power supply of the unit is suitable for 115-230VAC operation even so the unit is marked as 115VAC 60 Hz.
All answers will be greatlt appreciated.

For the MR and PAL Progressive hacks, I've just copied and pasted them from earlier threads:

Pal Prog + Multi Region hack for 963sa (R2 - Europe version)

    1. Hack for PAL p-scan using the supplied remote is "play", "159 222 023 00" , then press "play" for region 2 player

to remove all hacks back to default:"play", "159 222 012 00" , then press "play" for region 2 player

    2. Enter RC6 command via Pronto

[[[For multi-region using a OneForAll (URC7560), to generate the RC6 code:
2.1. The remote should be set up to control the DVD (setup code 0539).
    2.2. Press the DVD button.
    2.3. Press the Magic button.
    2.4. Press 085.]]]

2.5. The display should read '----'.
2.6. Enter the following with the normal Philips remote:
[[On newer models, there appears to be 11 spaces in which to enter a code]].

    222 222 005 255

The player should now be able to output pal progressive scan + be region-free.

MR hack one for all 6:

    No discs in machine !
    1. The remote should be set up to control the DVD ( set-up code 0539 ).
    2. Press the DVD button.
    3. Press the MAGIC button.
    4. Press 085
    5. The display should read " ------------"
    6. Enter the following with the normal Philips remote :

    222 222 005 255

    Press PLAY.

Doesn't answer your question, but might be useful..

    Gary.
