If I run connect my Philips CD753 to my Sony DDW-740S amplifier using the coxial digital output, does this bypass the DAC within the CD player? If so would I get better quality using analogue interconnects and using the DAC in the CD753 rather than in the Sony amp?

    Thanks,

    Ross

In general, this type of question is one that you can answer, by trying on against the other.

Perhaps you could follow up your question posting by posting the answer: how does it sound? I would expect the CD to have done better, but that's just a guess.

What analogue interconnects would you recommend? I reckon I'll head down to Richer Sounds and get a loan of some to compare the sound from each.
