Hi
Philips has seen the light (or rather falling sales of their solo writers to the likes of Pioneer, NEC, LG, Sony etc) and is now adding DVD-RW/DVD-R support, with the option of a firmware update to their current PC writer according to CDFreaks http://www.cdfreaks.com/news/9223.
HP is now also offering dual-writers, and I suspect both HP and Dell will support dual on their PCs as the standard once current stock of solo writers are gone.
I wonder how much this "co-operation" at ending the format wars in the PC arena is down to all these companies becoming friends again as part of the Blu-ray alliance?
Regards
Philip
