    hi there , i am pretty new to this , so here goes is the Philips 9986 as good as they say it is .does anyone have one of these .
    i have been told i can get one for around £2000 but need any views on this lcd to help make my mind up or any other suggestions on a 32" screen .

    Just do I search in these Forums, and I think you will have your answer. The vast majority of people here who have one are very pleased. Mine went back due to unacceptable 'contrast hum' noise, a flickering screen an uneven backlight. Even so, I miss it every day!
    I'm hanging on for the replacement, due out in July / August time.

    Had mine 2 days now paid 1.9k and completly satisfied. You can read as much as u like. I couldnt make my mind up so eventually went with the flow of the forum.
    Thank god as Im well pleased.

    Ps if you have a dvd capable of progresive scan then the image is jaw dropping.

    I only watch TV througth Sky + as this give the TV a good chance to Shine

    i have a pioneer dcs313 home cinema setup and a philips dvdrw 880 and like i said i am new to this so i dont even know if they have progresive scan .


    i hope so and i think i will be going for the 9986 as i have heard they are better than a plasma display for picture quality.
