Hello, I hope to take the plunge - "upgrading" my 12 year old CRT for a 32" 9830 when it eventually becomes available. The choice is largely based upon some serious lurking, and my perception is that the 9986 is v. good, and the 9830 should be "the same but better". At the same time, I was planning to get a Denon 2805, plus speakers, plus ... until my cash runs out. Again, the decision about the 2805 is based upon reviews and lurking - but I have a slight concern. One of the "benefits" of the 2805 is the conversion/upscaling of all sources (only DVD and cable in my case) to component, which allows the amp to be used as the single connection to the screen. BUT, there have been numerous tales of woe about the lack of component input on the 9986, and it doesn't appear (from what I have read so far) that the 9830 will have component. So, with apologies for: - asking a question about a bit of kit that isn't even avaialble yet, - asking a question which may be in the right forum, - asking a question that may have been answered elsewhere, my question is: Is the 9830 + 2805 combination the answer to all my prayers, or is it going to be a component to HDMI conversion nightmare? I realise that the 9830 + Denon AVC-A1XV would be the answer to my prayers, but would mean going without food, water and DVDs for the next 2 years, and is most certainly off-topic for this forum. Thanks in advance.
