    HI !

    I´m looking for a SDI-player for my IScan HD+.

Philips 963 SA is one of the few SDI players that I have come cross. However, since it´s already a quite old model for a DVD-player, would it still be a good choice for a SDI-player in a 600 pounds price region.

If not, what else model would you suggest for a SDI-player in around 600 price region or cheaper :)

Henry at CRT projectors still rates it very highly. I've just bought one. Not had long with it but it does look good through SDI.

It is my prefered choice of my three SDI players, best piccy I can get at home, audio is pretty decent as well (hence audiophiles like this player) with SACD as a bonus.

It replaced a Panasonic RP-82 SDI. This had a good picture but the Philips is a little sharper. The audio and build quality is much better.

In my case I have the 63 and 82 Panny, piccy is better (a bit) and audio is MUCH better, for me the only competition would be an ARCAM (lovely alrounder) or the big Onkyo (best sound but piccy not as good) but 'universal'.

    Hi,

I had Nic's RP-62 in use previously, but upgraded to the 963sa on Nic's recommendation. I'm not regretting my purchase one bit.

The picture is almost 3D in it's quality. Colours are so vivid.

Do bear in mind that the 963sa operations are quite slow, for example if you press stop, it takes just under a second to respond, but this really is small beans when you get a picture of this quality. Audio quality is also very good in my opinion.

It also looks nice in the rack, with a nice silver brushed steel fascia.

As a bit of advice don't even think about SDI'ing it yourself. I had that idea, and changed my mind after opening the case. Get Henry to do the mod, and you will be assured of a well fitted mod.

Go for it, you won't regret it.

    Cheers, Lee

Just ordered one of these to succeed my Panny RP82 SDI. Looking forward to seeing how it looks and especially sounds,

    Hi, Nic,
as you see, you persuaded me on this one: cant wait.
If you are in the area sometime, call by. I've also been playing with the REq wizard - great fun and a good way to hoover up an evening without even realising it,

    Chris

Chris and I use SDI into scaler and RGBHV out to CRT pretty much what you want to do, it is my prefered option, would be great with your projector. Don't worry too much about DVI.....
