    Just won one of these in a dabs auction for 701 quid, so far I am very happy with it.

    would you say at the price it is a good bargain compared to the philips competitors?

    yep. its a big tv for the price.

    naturally, as the 9617 takes over, then this model will cease to exist, but it works well. and if you friends just have normal tvs wait until you see their face if you play a dolby digital 5.1 ecoded dvd and the tv set up for dolby digital from dvd on scart 1 (audio lead needed)...

    it simply cant be ignored...

    lol been waiting to try the 5.1 me self, I have over 80 dvd's.

    I ordered a few leads from Keane on saturday, this included the digital coaxial phono cable to connect between the DVD and TV.
