Philips 7304 reviews/experiences

So you don't get a. Dolby vision. HDR10, HDR10+ box pop up in the bottom right corner when the TV finds the relevant hdr source??
Honestly I don't know yet, I'm yet to try mine. But I'm commenting on while all the other people are seeing poor colours in HDR.

Thanks, I will give it a shot and let you know. I also tried the custom RGB found in this thread in the beginning and that dramatically made it better.

What is wrong with Philips? I mean is it that hard to actually calibrate one unit properly and then distribute it ? it seems that almost all the settings out of the box are totally random and don't make any sense whatsoever... I guess there is a reason I paid only 799 eu for this LOL which is the only reason I will probably keep it

Well no, i paid this TV 500 € and i find it to be areally good TV (only complain is about HDR, but it's only because i have to understand if what i'm doing is correct or not), better than my "old" Samsung KU6400 (bought 2, 2 defective)
About RGB, remember that every panel is different, so it's not so obvious that the color calibration of one TV is the same as yours (your picture could be not perfect if you copy them. You need calibrations system to change that parameters).

This is the case with most TVs these days that I've come across, basically turn all of their features off and it's a better picture! Incomprehensible that HDR/SDR is somehow not picked up by the TV itself and differentiated

Post-processing effects makes the picture worst in all cases, they should always be removed.
When the signal became HDR/Dolby Vision you get a notification

Honestly I don't know yet, I'm yet to try mine. But I'm commenting on while all the other people are seeing poor colours in HDR.

Yes, that's a problem i'm facing if i put the same SDR values, but in HDR (i have to dramatically boost color and activate post-processing effects to make it looks good).
Please, let me know if it's the same for you

What do you guys think? Is this TV worth atm? Any better options?

I got 70'' pus 7304 from blackfriday deal at 599eur, but still haven't received yet. Havent experienced ambilight before and i am excited about it. Hows the picture quality on this model? Theres almost no proper reviews about this model. Atleast i couldn't find any.

Very good thread on here mate. Links to reviews, current buyers thoughts etc

One question. Why some reviews say, that 7304 is only 50hz panel? Philips says its 4k/60hz.

Is there some variant with only 50hz?

Yes, no improvement at all (dolby vision is a little better, but HDR is colorless as before)

Hi Where can I download this latest firmware? my HDR is bad. I coming from a original firmware dated 18.09.19.

if anyone can get me a download link that would be great.

thanks

You can update the TV from the main menu if it's connected to the internet.
If not, just go to philips website and register your product. From there you can download the latest firmware

What is your model?

43pus7334/12, will the picture setting still work on this model do you know?
That's strange, the updates are the same.
However it differs only for the speakers and the color of the bar, so settings should be the same i posted above :)

Thanks, I will try it over the weekend. If there is a link for the firmware I would appreciate it .

"unfortunately" i can reach only the download page for my tv, the pus7304, don't know if it's the same file (but i wouldn't try).
You should visit your profile page in philips website, click on the TV you've registered and then go to support, where you can download the latest firmware

Hi,
Just bought the 50' 7354 model. Image looks quite good and vibrant. Does anyone know how to get the information of the "info" button (to check the video definition and codec) ? It's not on the remote anymore now.
Thanks

Hi!
I have a question for those having the latest firmware. There is a strange flicker on my tv after I installed the last firmware. It looks like the flicker you have on old CRT monitors. It's most noticeable in white parts of the picture. It's not visible when there is HDR or Dolby Vision content.
Anyone having the same problem?

Hello,
I connected my 7504 to the pc using different hdmi cables (high speed) and a nvidia 1080ti.
The problem is that the nvidia panel says is 1080p native, but let me use 4k modes (i suposse are upscaling).
The hardware says is using philips ftv but in drivers it says generic pnp monitor.

I have tried everything (related on tv- hdmi optimal- etc) reinstaling drivers (clean mode) but always says that tv is 1080p native in nvidia panel (but offer me 4k modes too).

using monitor asset manager software says the same:

Thank you!
Philips is still checking on the problem (almost a week now), i'm waiting for them to contact me. When they will, i'll tell them this so the problem (the only one i,m facing) will finally be solved!
However i can't access at the service menu (gone to tv channel and entered the code, but doesn't work).
There is a particular screen in wich i need to input that code?

Thank you again!

EDIT: never mind, i was able to do it pressing "OK" after the code. I have to shut down the TV because a warning pop up notified me that just entering in the service menu would end my warrantee (strange, becauese i always entered in the services menu of samsungs TV without invalidating it) and that i needed to shut off the tv to prevent this (i had to remove DC cable completely, because turning it off wouldn't stop the pop-up to appear)

Thanks the picture quality is much better with those settings. still weird that the new firmware is not showing on my profile. Hopefully is will show up soon.

I found it at the italian webpage, don't know if it's the same:

No you can enter service menu it's not end or change your warranty if you check only information details. Please do not change anything like editor menu. Could you please share under "development 2 file versions" informations.Thanks.

this would be like others TV i had in the past, are you sure it's the same for this philips?
I wouldn't like if they had put a counter on this TVs that counts if a user just enter the secret service menu...

I checked all menu there is no counter and also it's not needed for that also talk to philips service in turkey just a legal information for end users not change anything. Most of users in turkey we checked same menu and inform NVM version number to philips customer service to upgrade them.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my 43 inch model. Tried to downgrade the software but that's not possible. I checked NVM and it's 0.60. Hope they will fix this soon.

Anyone else having the same problem? Is there a solution?

Hi all. Has anyone had much success in getting the 58" (VA) 7304 picture looking good?
I'm coming from a 9 year old LG Plasma with THX and no matter what settings I've tried this TV doesn't seem to come close to that for picture quality when watching regular 1080p TV.
I've tried settings in this thread as well as some taken from the 7303 thread and nothing seems to look good most of the time. It's like you can't turn the backlight low enough or something so pure white is blinding or has blue tinges to it. greens (football grass etc look way to bright and unrealistic. Skins look to washed out, the list goes on...

The picture can look good for some things and I love the ambilight but I'm starting to think about sending it back and keeping the LG for now until I can afford to get an oled.

Any setting to try would be most welcome. Thanks :)
