Hi. I see there is the 50 inch Philips 7334 for a bargain at 449 or the 8204 for 499.

however can you tell me what is the difference between these two TVs? Is the 8204 much better?

also would you recommend any of these two TVs. Local dimming appears to be included so should give good contrast and blacks.

any thoughts to help me decide? Or should I stick with a 43inch Samsung 7400 for a similar price?

thanks

Hi Paul,
I was in the same position deciding which one to go for. After some research I decided to go for the 8204 @ £499 in Curry`s.
Thanks

Hi Paul,
I was looking for a review online but there was none on the 8204 there was a few on 7334 so I finally went to Phillips website and did a comparison the 8204 is has a slightly better spec.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
The tv has not been delivered yet, because is a Christmas present I didn't want receive it right now because of the 30 days return policy so I think is getting delivered on the 16th of December.
Cheers

What size screen was that? I was thinking of a 50" 7334 Philips as a cheap 2nd TV.

I've done so much tv research this last week my head is spinning, but i've settled on definitely wanting Ambilight, and swaying towards VA, after seeing some terrible reviews of IPS on Amazon, particularly the glow and washout, and I do tend to watch tv in a dark room.

Two contenders are 50pus8204 + 55pus8204

50 is definitely VA
55 i'll happily pay the £100 more for at £599, but i've a sneaking suspicion its IPA, but can't confirm :(

Do these 8 series have the better sound too VS 7 series?
I have read they should have more bugs ironed out which may have effected 7 and 6 series.

Heres my short list and thought process so far

*8204 about to buy, ambilight, VA panel + 1900 PPI
*Any attempt to move up to 55" thwarted with IPS panels
*Consider saving £100 on other VA 50" but get lower PPI and 6 or 7 series with potential poor software/slower processors?
*Keep ending up back with the 8204!

8204 £499

7334 £449

6814 £399

6754 £399

I think you should stick with the 8204, I just saw a deal at Cosco from hot deal 70pus7304 for £790 if you are Cosco member that is tempting

Hi - has anyone got a link to a review for the 8204 series, I can't find anything online... Trying to work out where the 8204 fits into the Philips range and is it a 2019 TV? Thanks

It's a 2020 tv and for the price I cannot fault it, had it about 3 weeks now.

Thanks spmorely, it's strange I can't find any details on this TV anywhere on the web!? Currys are doing the 50" at £399 which looks very tempting. Although I wary of purchasing from them...

I was the same but took a punt on it, dolby vision looks good, gaming in it is also very good, I would say input lag around 25-30ms which is more than acceptable. 4k hdr content on YouTube is breathtaking. For less than 400 it really is a bargain

Cheers, appreciate the prompt response - think I will go for it :)

Looking to purchase either the 65 inch 8204 or 7304 tomorrow amd noticed while comparing them that the 8 series doesn't have Pixel precise ultra HD. Attached

Does anyone know is this would make a difference and could I get your opinions on which one you would recommend please.

I am really lost on what to choose. I was going to get the 6754 which is £50 cheaper than the 8204. Is the 8204 worth the extra price?

100% 8204 is better choice and worth extra. 1200PPi vs 1900PPI I guess should be very noticeable in picture quality.

Thanks, I managed to find a comparison website, there didnt seem too much different other than the ppi and operation system (I think 8204 is android and 6754 is saphi.
A friend has the 6754 and we have decided to go with that
