Hi, the clock display on my 610 keeps going blank for a minute or so and then turning back on whenever it is not in use.

It hasn't caused any probs while recording or playing DVDs (yet) but I don't think it should be doing it, so is there anything I can do about it or do I have to take it back for a new one? :(

There is a Philips-authorised firmware upgrade which sorts this and other problems out. However unless you're comfortable about performing an upgrade then I'd certainly take it back.

You need to make sure the replacement has the new firmware on board.

Thanks for your help, thats good to know.

I'll have to look into whats involved with a firmware upgrade and decide.
