Philips 55OLED754 - Direct Input Select

Hello, my fairly large household has 2 x Samsung TVs and 2 Philips TVs in various rooms, and we use Logitech Harmony One's for remote control If you know the Harmony One you will know that it downloads the IR command set from Logitech's database and for each activity (such as "watch skytv") it puts all your devices in to the correct mode from a single button press. It is a solution I've used for years, I am very familiar with it, and it has worked with many TVs, Hi Fis, AV amps, DVD players, CD players, etc that I have had in and out of my systems over the years. But it does not work with my brand new Philips 55OLED754.

The IR commands that Logitech have in their database don't allow the TV to directly select an input, I have worked through many options with excellent help from Logitech, and all the commands they give me to try either a) don't work at all or b) simply bring up the Source Menu. I also note that Philips own App (over WiFi) does not support direct selection of inputs.

Philips are no help (simply say they don't guarantee the use of any 3rd party remotes), Logitech have run out of ideas, right now I have a TV which I expect to keep for 10 years that doesn't do to the input I tell it to. It;s the only TV I have ever had in 15 years of using Logitech universal remotes that I can't control.

Very frustrating. Has anyone got this TV controllable for direct input select? if so, how did you do it?

Back in 2017 when I first got my Harmony remote for use with a Philips 42PFL6907T/12 I contacted Logitech support and they mapped direct input buttons onto my account. I've just changed TV'S to a Philips 43PUS7334/12 and they still work.

Raise a support call and ask for the buttons to be mapped and they should be able to enable them for you.

They have done that, (and my old TV was a Philips also) but nothing Logitech have in their database, nor the commands from my earlier 47PFL7 series work with this darned 55OLED734 display

The codes for other Philips TVs work in terms of On/Off. EPG, menu/exit and channel numbers including the codes for your own 42PFL6907T/12 , but they do NOT work for direct input select, I just tried the 42PFL6907T/12 codes and when set to HDMI2, the 55OLED754 goes really wonky, the menu page comes up and the "cursor" starts moving around, but it did not settle anywhere near HDMI2

I really do think the 55OLED754 has no ability to directly go to an input, only to go via Menu and then be manually put in to the right input.

Such a pain in the arse

Really looking for someone who has got this to work specifically on the 55OLED754,

Cheers for the help so far

On my new 934 I found setting the TV as a 55PUS8804 on my Harmony has worked ok for selecting HDMI inputs for 3 external sources.

Annoying that the new TV models are not there though.

Thanks

tried the 55PUS8804 and the result was the same as every other Philips code I have tried, some offered by Logitech (including codes for my particular model) and some recommended here, the result is always the same - some commands work OK but not the commands for direct input select.

There are 3 "categories" of use which matter to me

Internal tuner- watching free to air TV shows
External sources - HDMI inputs 1, 2 are in use
Internal apps - such as Netflix, iPlayer, Prime Video

Of course there are others modes, but lets just deal with these, it seems that you can't move directly between those states (or any other states) without going via a horrendous menu system with lots of cursor up/down/left right... along the way.

There appears to be NO direct input select (e.g. HDMI 1, HDMI2) command that works, and neither is there a single command that returns the TV set to "tuner" either after manually selecting to use one of the HDMI inputs.

I've tried SO many different philips codes either offered by Logitech support or suggested here, and nothing works, so fed up, I have been at it for 2 weeks now trying everything, Philips tech support are HOPELESS, just don't want to know "only gaurantee the set to work with the supplied remote".

Sorry, I don't know. I don't use harmony. I only know that the IRs are those, but I don't know how to set it to harmony, I use the Control4 home automation

I have the 65OLED754 and have the same HDMI selection issue with Harmony (Elite/Hub). Great news if discrete HDMI input codes exist for this TV! I have not found a way (that still works in 2020) to put the Pronto HEX codes shared by Aurelio007 in my Harmony. If these codes check out, these can be passed on to Logitech for inclusion in the Harmony database.

Has anyone been able to verify that these work? (And/or perhaps already contacted Logitech?)

I dont know if Im on the same wavelength as what your trying to achieve but I asked Logitech to add my Philips 50PUS6754 TV to the database, which they quickly did and I have HDMI inputs as well as Netflix options in the desktop app.

@DracUK, thanks for the feedback. The issue here is that Logitech does not know the discrete codes for direct selection of the HDMI inputs on this particular TV (xxOLED754) and is apparently unable to get them from Philips. The model exists in the Harmony database, but the input selection commands ("InputHDMI1" etc) do not work. If Aurelio007's codes work, that would be great. Unfortunately, there is no way to directly put these codes in a Harmony remote. I was contacted by someone from Logitech yesterday who said they could set up a "test environment" for me. That would be interesting. Haven't heard back from them yet.

Update: Am in touch with very friendly people at Logitech. They set up a "test device" on my Harmony Elite to test some codes. Unfortunately none of them worked. I have also established that the codes provided by Aurelio007 are the same ones used for HDMI-input1-4 for Philips 65OLED754 in the Harmony database, and that those do not work. Will still follow-up with Logitech, but it may be there is in the end no way to directly select inputs on this TV... Ridiculous corner cutting at Philips (which could probably be easily remedied by a firmware upgrade; but I'm not holding my breath...).

This is a real shame, I really like the TV but this is rather rubbish they can't support it. I will keep looking but it sounds like short of a firmware update then no luck. Let us know if you do get any updates @slashedzero

Hi all. Have just had the 55OLED754 delivered and am having the same issue re selecting inputs. Has anyone had and success with this yet? be grateful for any updates.
Might just have to return it if I can't get something as simple as selecting inputs easily to work :(

Yeah it is a real shame as other than this I find it a great television. I have had no luck with switching via the TV and so in the end brought forward my plan to setup my av receiver with it and now as all the inputs go via that I can easily switch inputs since my avr is compatible with Harmony. But it is certainly a bizarre decision from Philips not to allow direct input switching.
