The build quality is a bit on the plastic side but it's a reasonably well made TV. Ambilight can be a gimmick if you use it in the mode where the colours and brightness change to match the images on the screen but the ISF mode just produces a constant neutral bias light behind the TV, which makes viewing in the evening more comfortable and improves the perceived blacks.
Philips mainly use VA panels. Yes we'll be reviewing the 65" 7601 with FALD very soon and then we'll take a look at the new OLED TV in late October or early November.i was asking about the philips models in a thread.
