Philips 49PUS6401 - no digital output to old Sony Receiver

Hi,

Bought the TV yesterday and everything is perfect apart from the sound is pretty poor.

Thought this would not be a problem as I have an old Sony receiver and it has a digital input, and could use the Toslink cable I had used from my old LG TV.

I have tried every audio setting available, I can see that the cable is getting a signal from the TV as you see the red light, but the amp will not accept it, a little 'opt' graphic should show on the amps display.

Do I need a new amp/soundbar, or is there a way of getting the receiver to work?

Cheers

Vince

(I posted this already on the Philips TV official forum but had no response, hoping someone knows the answer here)

Have you tried the various audio out settings on page 54 of your TV user manual?

When you say there's no sound from the Tv into the amp...is that from the TV's Freeview tuner or is it from a set-top box such as a Sky box connected to the Tv?
