Philips 42PFL9664; streaming video problem

I've just installed a new 42PFL9664 - all works great.

On the 'browse PC' I can see my media server and the multimedia files on it.

I've ripped a DVD into an MP4 which plays fine on windows media player; but the TV says the file is unplayable.

What format do I have to rip the DVD into to be able to play it back by streaming it to the TV?

Thanks
