    Hi all

I have a question regarding progressive scan. My Philips 42PF9945 has a progressive scan component input. If I use this with a DVD player with progressive scan will this improve ghosting on the plasma?

Today I use "old" Philips DVD 957 and I am not pleased with the ghosting issue when skin moves fast horisontaly on the screen. I have tried the Pioneer 5100hs DVDRecorder and it improved picture quality a lot even if it don't have progressive scan (or component out).

Anybody got some experience around this subject? :lease:

Ok, I will answer it myself :)

Yes, gosting will almost dissapear if progressiv scan is activated on Philips DVP630. Only negative is that Digital Natural Motion seems to be turned off.

    Hi,

    I have the 42PF9945 too.

I used a Philips DVD737 (connected via SCART - no Progressive Scan)

Now I'm planning to buy a DVD630 (connected via component - with Progressiva Scan).

Do you think that I will improve picture quality? even with DIVX material?

    Thanks.
